White to move. What would you play?

How a lesson works

Try it. Black is hitting your e4 pawn: what are you after?

  1. We ask you what for

Before a key move you pick the goal: hold the centre, attack or gain space. Then you play the move that does it.

  2. Miss it, try again

You see your move, it goes back and you get a hint that doesn't name the move. Miss again and we show the right one and why yours fails.

  3. It comes back in review

Each position comes back just before you'd forget it: a few minutes a day.
